Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

hi @Molliex I hope your psych appointment went well yesterday

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Thanks for such a thoughtful reply @Former-Member

You're right about stress. My psychologist has told me my depression and suicidal thoughts peak at times of stress. Funny how you can't see that yourself when you're in it.

I have been working on mindfulness and I joined a gym. Slow and steady.

Getting my meds right will help too.

Thanks for the word cloud tip. Have a lovely Friday 🌻

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Hi @outlander thanks for checking in.

It was a good appointment. The last was one was so traumatic, just getting it ALL out, that finally we can start working on things. My GP and psych have been talking and they're thinking I should see a psychiatrist if my meds don't help significantly..

Its going to be a long road I think.

How are your stress levels today? 🌼🌸🌺

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

im glad your appointment was good @Molliex I know sometimes its so tough and triggering.
seeing a psychiatrist sounds like a good idea if your current meds don't help, they do specialise in mh medications.

stress levels are still very high, still waiting on news about loans and things as well. have managed to get a few more productive things done though even if it doesn't seem like much.

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Yes, they really can be so trigger. It took me a week to get past the last one, and I really didn't know if I would be ok. Stupid mind.

A few things is still great @outlander, you need to be kind to yourself 🌻

Do you have anything nice to distract you this weekend?

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

I have been in that place too @Molliex quite a few times actually. its so hard with trauma and trying to speak about what happened.

tomorrow is super windy so not much on, I think ill keep trying to get a few things done at home. and have my second work late in the arvo, and sunday I have my other work again all day.
what about you?
wha

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

The wind is crazy here too @outlander! I need to have a quiet weekend after the wedding last weekend; I'm exhausted. Hopefully take my daughter to the park and do some cooking/baking, that's about it🌸

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

that sounds lovley @Molliex
I like to bake too.

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Do you have a speciality @outlander?

I'm more of a cook than baker, but I've been trying for my girl.

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

um not really @Molliex but I like baking and/or making the sweeter things the best like cakes, slices, trifles, brownies, biscuits.. all those sorts of things

what about you?
