Re: My special place

@Bow I love that book art, it has so much detail in it.

Has it taken you long to do?

@Till23 Dogs (and cats) can be such a big part of our lives, especially with our MH. No judgement, great listeners and very good company.

Mine has been next to me in bed all day.

Meeting new people and putting yourself out there is extremely hard. It's great you recognised within yourself that you needed to be more social.

Re: My special place

Yeah @Snowie my dogs have been so good for my MH.

What sort of dog do you have. They are so beautiful the way they stay with you especially when you are not well

@Bow what type of kittens do you have are you fostering for a shelter/RSPCA? That’s a beautiful thing to do - I’m sure they keep you busy.

Re: My special place

Thanks @Till23

stole as in…. I’m her taxi driver, marquee setter upper, do all the heavy lifting and sit here all day, so I’m having a table! 😂 I always feel bad though when I out sell her, which is most times 😳 but she sold the most today!

I love trying all sorts of craft. I go to an arts and craft group ran by an organization who support folks with mh. Is probably a highlight of my week.

Think I read you are retired?

Re: My special place

I have a cavoodle @Till23  My daughter has allergies so it is a great dog for her too. Did a lot of research before getting her.

She is 7 years old. At the moment she is taking up lots of the bed!

Re: My special place

@Snowie @Till23  The book sculpture took me a few weeks to finish. Just an old book from a second hand shop. Lots of measuring, folding, marking and cutting and folding some more! All the pages are still there though. Then I just printed a heap of pictures onto card and very carefully cut them out.
im working on a different one now. Bit different.

@Till23  I foster through a shelter. I fostered a cat a couple of years ago and failed. I couldn’t let him go and adopted him! His name is Groot. His a beautiful boy. Ive current got 3 kittens, Boq, Nessarose and Morrible. They were all supposed to go back to the shelter next week for desexing and then adoption, but one of them has a bug, so have to wait for that to clear up before they can all be desexed and then go over for adoption. I got them at 5 weeks, so they were tiny! But has been fun watching them grow and develop little personalities.

we have a dog at home too- a pugapoo.

Re: My special place

Well it looks amazing @Bow

I'm sure you would be able to sell them too.

Re: My special place

Ok that version of stole is acceptable @Bow it’s really payment for a service!

There’s a crotchet group in my town, which I have thought of joining as I can’t crotchet. I wish there was a basic sewing group to teach me taking up hems, taking in clothes and minor repairs.

Yes I have considered dog fostering when my boy passes but worry about getting too close to them.

Yes I have recently retired. So have to be careful with money. It’s very scary at first going from saving to spending. I’ve had a bit of anxiety around that. I retired early because I could no longer deal with the stress so have to support myself until I am eligible for pension.

Re: My special place

Hey @Snowie @Till23 @Bow I am almost home but I’ve stopped for a wicked sweet treat…Krispy Kreme donut!! I have no willpower!

Ive been to a sporting event to cheer on someone I coach and I’ve just read through all your chatting.

Im old and retired too @Till23 so welcome!!

Re: My special place

thinking of you @Eve7 @Snowie @Till23 @Bow @tyme

i hope your going as well as you can be

Re: My special place

Hello @Eve7

Can I ask what sport you coach?

Krispy Kreme- I haven’t had one for ages. They are pretty wicked, but everything in moderation.

I’m actually surprised how many “older” people are on here. I thought it would be more of a young person’s thing. But I’m glad because there are people who share the same worries etc.
