Morning @Adge
My husband is the same , and he is 64 and not sure what to do with the new information
His family knows and their response is that it doesn't really matter now does it
As for learning about ASD, I can see it now and in his children too

Thanks @Shaz51
Thanks @tyme
That helps me, hearing how Mr Shaz feels about it.
My Dad supposedly had Aspergers Syndrome (Autism Level 1?).
Yet Dad would never have accepted such a Diagnosis (when he was alive).
As Dad was very antagonistic towards Psychology, Psychological tests, or any such "Diagnostic stuff".
Was all a load of Bunkem, according to him....

Yeah @Adge ,
They don't diagnose people with high functioning ASD anymore as Aspergers. I don't know much. They just assign a lvl. ASD lvl 1, 2 or 3.
In a way, I don't think it's so much about the diagnosis, but more about how one functions. How do you find yourself in everyday things @Adge ? Do you find yourself struggling?

Yes @tyme
A daily struggle just to get through basic life stuff, is something that I've been used to (accepted) for decades.
Be it due to daily fatigue, Complex PTSD (trauma) - Which I have.
Or the lasting effects of 4 major Bowel surgeries & Diverticular Disease - Which I also have.
So Autism or ASD is just another Diagnosis or disease to add to my already long list.

I'm wondering, does the diagnosis change you as a person? @Adge
Does it, in fact, act as a bit of a 'aha' moment in that it may answer why you have some of these struggles?
Of conversely, is it just depressing to have another diagnosis added?
I know for me, when I was diagnosed, it was unpleasant, but it was also liberating in some sense because it showed me why I behaved in ways I did.
No need to answer the above if you don't feel up to it. I'm here to support you no matter what.

@tymeYes some things make more sense, like having "Sensory Overload" & needing time to recover - In the light of Autism/ ASD.
So yes it does help to explain, or give reason (backing) for some of my daily Recovery Needs.
Although it also adds another Stigma, or another layer of stigma.
When other conditions I have (labels) like Complex PTSD already carry stigma & negative judgement (attached to them).

Hi @Shaz51 Have you taken any more lovely Orchid (or flower) photos recently?
Your photos & flower pics are always really nice.
You seem to have plants where you are, that don't grow elsewhere - or aren't common elsewhere.

Nice @Shaz51 The first photo is a Succulent of some sort, I don't know which one.
The 2nd photo is a Phalenopsis Orchid (Moth Orchid) - Which happens to be my favourite Orchid (pretty much).
Unfortunately I haven't been very successful at keeping Moth Orchids alive.
