Re: Never being in a relationship

@tyme

Yep pretty much, taught all day today and now I am lying in bed. I cant even think at the moment, I feel so fried.

How do people actually have lives and friends and a relationship? it blows my mind.

Life is incredibly unsatisfying right now and yes I do live with mum and dad. I love them but it is getting annoying, I need my own space but I cannot afford it

Re: Never being in a relationship

Are you a teacher @TheRenegade345 ?

Re: Never being in a relationship

@tyme

Yes, I am a secondary school teacher. I have juniors, 11s and 12s.

Re: Never being in a relationship

Cool @TheRenegade345 !

So was I.

I had prep/foundation right up to year 12. Mainly maths and sciences, but also taught english and hums.

It's a very female dominated industry. Do you get along with other teachers?

Re: Never being in a relationship

@tyme

yeah for the most part, everything is quite civil. I have tried to organise things with other staff members that I get on with but its hard to find the time.

But other staff members have their social needs met through other people. I dont have that which also makes it hard.

Re: Never being in a relationship

Fair enough @TheRenegade345 ,

When I was teaching, I just wanted to get out of school. I knew that if I went out with them, we'd all just talk school stuff anyway.

We had a lot of social events. I think in all my years, I only went to 2 - that was more than enough.

Then again, I'm not a talker. I prefer text communication (hence the forums).

Re: Never being in a relationship

@tyme

I can be a talker but in the right circumstances, I become mute in a lot of social interactions. Probably why I am a loner

Re: Never being in a relationship

Do you enjoy your job @TheRenegade345 ?

I found that a lot of my social needs were met by connecting with the students.

When I was in the darkest moments, it was the students who kept me going - honestly.

Re: Never being in a relationship

@tyme

I do but it can be draining, particularly when I get home and have nothing in the tank.

I find that too but I worry thats not healthy

Re: Never being in a relationship

I know things are expensive at the moment, but would you look working to move out of home? @TheRenegade345 Is a teacher's wage THAT bad? I was in a state school in Vic, and my wage wasn't bad.

What subjects do you teach?

What are you up to today?

But yes, with working with people, I really really thrive on helping others and I think that's where my social connections are driven. Of course I don't expect you to be the same, but I just wanted to let you know that I don't seek a relationship relationship because I feel my need for connection has been fulfilled.

Anyway, I won't go into it because I know we differ on this front.

Whatever it is, good to see you here anyway.
