Re: Childhood Trauma

@Dimity

I was also abused in the Army probably because I was so young and naive. I did receive reparation for that earlier this year. That does not erase the experience though

Re: Childhood Trauma

Sorry to hear that @Oaktree .

Re: Childhood Trauma

@Dimity

Hi,

Sorry you had a difficult childhood too.

I got myself a psychologist that specialises in childhood trauma but at this stage I am not sure that I want trauma therapy. At the moment we are working on issues that I have as a result of my upbringing

Re: Childhood Trauma

I trust iyour therapy is helping @Oaktree . My previous psychologist thought the way to help with my current issues was to deal with the past trauma but we didn't finish the work. It was very upsetting when she discharged me.

I'm sorry your siblings weren't/aren't close. Mine neither. And I seem to have just fallen out with the last ones - they've been angry with me and I feel too bruised to try to make peace with them. I'm left with no supports.

Re: Childhood Trauma

So sorry about all the abuse @Oaktree @MJG017 @Dimity 😥

Sorry to hear that you are not close with your siblings. It’s like your shared experiences should bond you but it doesn’t. It seems to separate you for whatever reason. Maybe because you are a reminder of the past and the past is too painful to think about

Re: Childhood Trauma

I've been estranged from most of my siblings since our parents passed @Oaktree . Even as kids we didn't get along.

Maybe because you are a reminder of the past and the past is too painful to think about . I don't know about them @Oaktree but yes I guess I feel that way about them. At the same time I wish we could patch things up and move forward.
