Hi @rav3n
Yep brought an ereader. Have downloaded about 40 books onto it. That should last me awhile!!
D taught me how to get books for free!! That was better than paying for them.
Most of the books are either on WW2 or biographies. I really like those topics, but will read mostly anything.
We are heading overseas on the 6th Feb.
Had a really bad night last night. Woke about 1:30am and ended up throwing up a few times, lots of stomach pain and struggled to sleep. Not sure if it was something I'd eaten or something else.
Could eat today normally, just really tired.

40 ebooks should keep you busy for sure!! even better when it's free!! @Snowie
oh yep i remember you mentioned that you liked watching WW2 types of movies too right? i haven't dabbled in those genres when it comes to reading, so if you have any book recommendations in the future please let me know!!
nice! is this the Japan trip you mentioned? how long are you staying for?
makes sense that you're tired!! that sounds rough, and glad to hear you were able to eat normally today... i had a similar experience once where for some reason my dinner didn't digest properly and i threw up all morning but then went back to normal after. everyone else who ate the same dinner was fine though... hopefully it's a one-off thing, rest up 💜

Thanks @Eve7
@rav3nI'm sure there will be lots of books I can recommend. I go through stages. Awhile ago I went through a 'true crime' stage!
We are in Japan for 11 days. So 7 days at the snow and then 4 days in Tokyo. We are going with 9 other people, so will really test my 'people skills'. We do have our own room so can escape when I need too.
I have eaten quite bland today. Just some dry biscuits and lots to drink. Tea was toast.
Think it will be an early night.
How has your day been?

@Snowie ooo if you have any true crime recommendations, send them my way!! one of my 2025 goals is also to read more.
sounds fun, and good you have the room to escape to!! are the 9 others complete strangers? or people you know?
and bland food sounds like a safe option. i've just had my coffee, so i'm starting to feel more energised now. my day was pretty slow, my friend's staying at mine tomorrow night so did some cleaning up... still have heaps to get done before she arrives.

@rav3n A really good book is The Happiest Man on Earth. About a WW2 Jew. It was published when he turned 100.
The other 9 are people we have known for at least 10 years. They are people we normally go to the snow with and meet up with during the year. Our kids have grown up with there's too.
I at least feel comfortable around them and so know what to expect with them.
I don't think I would have gone if they were strangers.
Hoping I don't get sick again tonight. If I do I know for sure it's not the food.
Ohh I love my coffee. For some it keeps them awake but I can have one just before bed and still sleep!
I hope you have a nice time with your friend. Are they only staying the one night?

hey @Snowie how's your Tuesday going? are you feeling a lil better today?
also responding to the last post - thank you for the recommendation!! i'm going to try see if i can find an audiobook of it, i've been meaning to listen to books while i drive.
ohh that's good that you've known them for a while!! even when travelling with people i know, there's been moments i've been overwhelmed and needed some alone time to recharge, so i get that it's not always easy.
love coffee too! do you prefer hot or cold ones? i feel like most of the times, the 'feeling awake and energised after coffee' is just a placebo effect for me.
thank you! she's staying for 2 nights, she used to live in melb but moved to brisbane a few years ago. and she's got proposed to on the weekend so we have heaps to catch up on!

Hi @rav3n
Physically feeling better today. Managed to get some sleep last night which was good.
I get to speak to my pdoc tomorrow. No face to face but I guess that is better than nothing. Maybe that might help.
I'm just hoping that I will be ok when we go away. I know that having our own room will help. I guess all I can do is just take it day by day.
I prefer hot coffee but will take it anyway! It doesn't make me feel energised or anything, I just feel normal.
I hope you have a good time with your friend and can catch up on everything that is happening. Sounds like you have quite a bit to catch up on! Have you got any plans with her or just going to take it easy?

@Snowie yay getting some sleep is a big win in my books!!
that's great that you get to chat with you pdoc tomorrow, have you done non face-to-face sessions with her before?
yep, taking it day by day sounds like a good plan. i believe in you can do this as well. do you usually document your travels? are you a travel diary or blog/vlog person?
hot coffee especially on cold days just hits the spot!!
thank you! i am taking her to the city tomorrow night for dinner and bar-hopping. but besides that we're probably just going to relax at my house for most of the time.

Sleep always helps @rav3n Seems to make things easier, or easier to cope with.
I've done phone sessions with my pdoc before. They normally go ok. He doesn't do tele health so it's either face to face or phone. His been my pdoc for quite awhile now so I feel comfortable in talking to him. I've got quite a bit to catch him up on. The only downfall is that his office is an hour away and in the city.
I don't normally document my travels in blogs or a diary. I just take lots of photo's and videos, but just for personal use. I like my photos!
I hope you have a nice time in the city. Sometimes just chillin and catching up is nice to do. Don't always have to be on the go.
