Hubby and I are going away in Feb to Japan. The kids will be here but not sure what to do with mum, if we put her in respite or not.

I don't want her to go somewhere she doesn't want to, but I don't want the responsibility to fall onto the kids either. Tough decisions.

Hey @Snowie ! Nice! Have you been before? I want to go and take my niece, but my sister won't let me.

I have been to Japan once before but it was about 15 years ago @tyme I went to Osaka.

This time we are heading to the snow for about 10 days and then having a few days in Tokyo.

There are 12 of us going over there as a group.

At the same time, I hope you get some time to yourself too. I can imagine how difficult it may be to be around people ALL DAY.

Thats one thing I am worried about @tyme 

Being around everyone all day and night. I do get along with them well and have known all of them for quite awhile now, so I do feel comfortable around them.

We do have our own room and bathroom in the house so hopefully that helps a little. If I need a breather I can just go there.

@Snowie I say this half-jokingly but... won't your mum be cranky no matter where she stays? 

But Japan though, how exciting!! I have heard some amazing things!! You gonna visit the fox sanctuary? Go hang out in some temples? Give Mt Fuji a hug? Teehee! You staying mainly city-side or going out to the wilds?

I doubt she would agree to respite anyway. She is very, very stubborn.

We are mainly staying in Niseko. So fly from Melb to Hong Kong and then Hong Kong to Sapporo Chitose, then bus to Niseko.  We will be at the snow most of the time so lots of skiing. On the way back we have about 3 days in Tokyo so not sure what we will do there. Need to start researching.

Still awhile to go

Need to go up the mountain here to get all our snow gear. It's all stored up there.

Tas is a lovely part of Aus. Have only been there once.

Oh lush, the snow!! Teehee it IS right there in your name, I should have guessed it was a skiing holiday!! That sounds like bliss!! 

Ooh you could go hang out with some cool animals!! Tokyo animal cafes!
