Something’s not right

Confused

Re: Confused

I have struggled today, but I feel a little better that I didn't act out or anything like that.

Re: Confused

@Angels333 I'm glad you had an ok day. Maybe tomorrow will be better, after all it'll be Friday! I got a psychiatric review done by my workplace a few months ago and got the results yesterday via my gp. It's sent me into a low mood. I'd love to mix meds right now but I'm afraid they'll lock me up again. I'm not suicidal or anything, just an escape mechanism I have a hard time shaking off. How do you cope with not so good days?

Re: Confused

Lifeline, that's what I do, I contact them. Sometimes serving others helps, small things like cooking a nice dinner or complimenting my kids. Today was one of those days where everything was just horrible, awful voices etc so I just contacted lifeline
That was helpful.

Re: Confused

Does anyone have any tips to battle the never ceasing appetite that my medicine causes. I feel really low about my weight gain.

Re: Confused

@Angels333 I put on 30kg on 6 months because of a mood stabiliser. Some days i didn't eat anything and I still put on weight! I know this isn't helpful to you but it is what we have to trade to feel better- for me anyway. Ask your dr about switching to another brand because I found some were better than others. All will make you hungry though

Re: Confused

I feel so stupid that I haven't had the self control

Re: Confused

That's not true you have no self control. It's the meds. The only way I felt better is when I switched. My mood is not as good now but I couldn't justify the weight I put on and staying on them. I hope things plateau out for you- the Drs say this can happen it just didn't with me

Re: Confused

Thanks for your advice sakurapuss I hope it plateaus and doesn't get worse, it's really demoralising. I'm not well enough to try to change meds, but I will bring it up with the dr.

Re: Confused

I find that when i'm anxious  i want to eat more. Also the antipsycotic makes me physically hungry.

Try drinking more water. I like it really cold with ice cubes in with some fresh lemon or lime juice I use the biggest glass i can find (about 400 mls)  I think it satisfies  the wanting to put something in my mouth all the time as well as filling me up. Needless to say lots of trips to the loo. I figure if it slows the food intake down even a little it has to be a good thing.
