@Gremlin24 ohh i see! i can imagine a wall with all your artwork collaged on... would be a pretty cool sight.
oh yep, i hear that. i hope you know that the forums is a place that doesn't judge, and your artistic vision no matter how 'unique' or even 'inaccurate', is always welcome here. plus i reckon there's no 'wrong' way of doing art, we all how our own style and creative strengths/weaknesses... the 'you-ness' you add to your work is what makes it art! it sucks that you've been made to feel this way in the past, please don't worry about your art here, we're never going to judge you for it.

@rav3n if only I was able to put things up on display, but then the fear of someone seeing would be too much for me.
I know it's not a judgemental place here but that fear for me is always going to be there. I just see everyone's art as better than mine, I constantly criticise myself for own creations. I have zero self-esteem or confidence in myself in doing anything. But anyway that's just me and i can't help it. I'm pushing past that by posting things here even the robot which I really didn't want to share cos I think it looks really bad.

The situation with your friend sounds frustrating. I;m not sure if you've tried it, or if it would make any difference, but have you tried explaining it to her by focusing on how the actions make you feel rather than what she's doing wrong? So rather that telling her she made the wrong decision, you could say that it just upsets when you're not asked about things like that. Maybe she would be more open to change if she felt that it was more about you than her doing something wrong.
Just a thought.

She didn't know how to word it, I wasn't the one who explicitly said she did something wrong, but I didn't say she didn't do something wrong, i asked her why she's sorry and said that it was upsetting to not be asked before she used my points.
I'm not one to straight out say that she did something wrong because I know she's learning and it's better to learn with a friend than a stranger.

@Gremlin24 sharing artwork or sharing your feelings/story, etc., they all take a lot of courage. and i think you have shown a lot of strength in sharing here. i hope you're proud of yourself for taking all those steps to push yourself out of your comfort zone, because i know i am proud of you.
and i think it is important to celebrate those wins, whether they feel big or small - acknowledging them is important. we spend soooo much time criticising every little thing about ourselves, it's time we start praising/acknowledging the little wins and every positive moments too.

@rav3n thankyou. It definitely takes alot for me to share things on here. But I don't see it as a strength no matter how hard I try.

sorry to hear that happened to you, definitely did NOT deserve that sort of treatment @avant-garde
isn't it wild how powerful art is? it holds so much meaning, from moments of joy to moments of pain. i hate that you had to experience pain like that, yet like a phoenix, you really did rise.

@Gremlin24 i can understand that seeing this as a strength can be hard, and that's okay - you don't have to see it right now. one lil step at a time, and for now, i'll acknowledge the strength on your behalf 💜
when you do your art stuff do you listen to music or watch movies/tv shows while doing it?
21-01-2025 07:19 PM

@rav3n a bit of both. Sometimes music, sometimes a TV show or movie. All depends on how I'm feeling at the time. Other times I just sit in silence while my thoughts race through me. Sometimes having something on is too much with everything that's going through my head on top of it.

oh yeah that makes sense! i've had moments where the tv/noise just becomes WAYYY too overstimulating at times @Gremlin24 what sort of music do you listen to? and what sort of shows/movies genres are you into?
