@Glisten I dont know if Youtube is spying on what i write here, but this morning one of the videos in my feed was a compilation of Japanese joinery techniques. It all looks so precise, it's incredible.

@MJG017 of course our technology tracks Key words. It’s data mining.
Japanese joinery. Is a very old technique. Japan is earthquake prone. Houses were constructed for salvaging parts. Built using Soft Wood.
The woodworking tools are made from the best quality steel manufacturing techniques.
Japan doesn’t have Hardwood like Jarrah or Iron wood.
A Jarrah roof beam would crush you in an earthquake.
Australian Hardwood is renowned for destroying cutting tools.
When you say that the cuts are precise. Hand saws 🪚 give you a more narrow cut. Approximately 1mm.
The teeth on the saw, rips the wood out. It’s not like cutting paper 📑
If I’m using a circular saw, I have to factor in the width of the saw, 3mm.
A 2mm variation might as well be 2cm.
Apologies for the longass waffle. I 🧡 woodwork.
I hope your day gives you as much joy, as you gave me.

I know about pervasive data mining, but it surprised me that it tracked what I wrote in here. If I'd done it on my phone, I probably wouldn't be so surprised. I do occasionally watch youtube videos on Japanese woodworking, so maybe it was just a coincidence I got that ad when I did. But nothing strikes me as coincidental these days.
I hadn't really though of all those factors that go into their woodworking techniques. I seem to remember the constant earthquakes are a main factor in why their buildings are exactly build to stand the test of time.
No problem about the "waffle", woodworking fascinates me and I wish I was better at it. If I remember from some of the tips I've picked up in recent years, that extra space a saw removes is called the kerf? I think that was the main reason nothing I did really seemed accurate. I would just make my mark, line up the saw with the middle of it and cut away. Not that I've every tried anything like furniture or cabinet making, but it's one of those things I wish I had learned to do.

You speak fluent English and Woodwork 👏🏼
Yes it is called the Kerf ⭐️
Arrrh I got to keep progressing with painting this stupid A-frame. An interior style keeps eluding me 🤦🏼♀️
