Hey Everyone,
I am just wondering if anyone has participated in studies before and what their experience of them is?
I have looked into it - with one study on schizophrenia and memory offering $30 per day to participate, but only if you can be in the city to do them, i.e. no travel costs covered.
Do you reckon this skews their results if only people who live in the city can undertake the study?
I looked into another study about weight and memory, not specifically a mental health one, and they were offering $100 a day plus travel costs.
Your thoughts?

It could skew their study depending on what their actual subject of the study is. For instance if it was about treatment options and how indiiduals recovered from them, i guess that would be ok, if it was about how regularly people are able to recover successfully i do believe that country patients are left behind because of the lack of services or regular face to face services etc. So I do believe it would depend on each study individually. However, i have never participated in anything on mental health.
cheers,
LisaJane
