I understand rejection. After my diagnosis my Mother rejected me. She said I was “too hard”. Although she was wanting in the Mother department I still loved her and this hurt a lot. I did send her a card a few years ago asking for contact but she didn’t reply. I stole her address from my Aunt’s house from a letter she had just sent so I am pretty sure she received my mail. Now every time someone rejects me the same pain resurfaces all over again. If my own Mother can’t love me then surely I am unlovable right?

I have over time with help from my mum 

but at times it comes up again at different times @Jynx , @Oaktree

I think too that it affects your relationships because you think you are going to be rejected again

Yeah for sure Shaz, it can have ripples across our lives that continue to impact us, even when we know in our hearts it's not the case.

But when is enough ? 

When do we halt comparing each other childhood wounds ? 

When do we seek and give empathy ? When do we put it behind us ? 

When does the ripples change ?
