Anyone that experience with being diagnosis as adul asd level 2

Hello

o have just began the ndis process for asd level 2. I am a little overwhelmed and can't acces any information but I have FND that has me in a wheel chair and non verbal can that be under that or will only be funded for support through FND secondary diagnosis. Just trying to figure out the best avenue to advocate for supported living as I am under the mercy of an abusive mother cos I have no other choice. So keen to make sure I do this the best k can. Any advice appreciated.

hey @Judymay sorry to hear that this process has been overwhelming, i can see how challenging this has been for you and you've shown a lot of strength in working through it. unfortunately i don't know the answer to your question, hopefully others will be able to provide you with the answer you're looking for soon but in the meantime - i did want to link the NDIS enquiries email: enquiries@ndis.gov.au (Contact | NDIS - there's also a live webchat option here) perhaps you can email/message them this question?

Re: Anyone that experience with being diagnosis as adul asd level 2

Hi @Judymay perhaps your question and greatest need relates to what is your primary disability and what are secondary ones in terms of maximising your chance of success.

Your ASD level 2 might have come first but is it more debilitating and disabling than your FND?

The gist of what I found was...

To apply for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) with multiple disabilities, you'll need to:
Demonstrate that each disability impacts your day-to-day life
Provide information about your "primary disability", which is the disability that has the greatest impact on your daily life
List any other disabilities that also impact your daily life.

If you're not sure maybe you can list and tabulate all the impacts and difficulties you experience and then rank them. To an outsider your FND seems more problematic in your dependence on your mother than your ASD.

Best of luck

Hey @Judymay , did you ever get support to fill out the access request through NDIS? I feel you have been so disadvantaged. I really want to help you, but unfortunately, it’s not my role to do so. I can see how much you need it.

I don’t have a diagnosis but I do know that the NDIS is hard to navigate sorry your going through it
