Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Well done on your bedroom @Oaktree !

I also have the problem of no storage /nowhere to put stuff. Which means I need to sort shelves out and get rid of stuff on there before I can put stuff that I'm keeping there. It makes it a bigger job!

Can you choose one room or one quarter of a room to do next and that's all?

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Ohhh well done @NatureLover , @Dimity  @Oaktree 😊👍

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hmm might be time to seek gp advice on your skin problem @NatureLover . On possible causes (there could be many) and ways of relieving it.

I lost track of the time today after doing some chores. Hopefully I'll get more done tomorrow.

I hope your psychologist today was helpful.

Having more stuff than storage seems a common theme @NatureLover @Oaktree. I guess that's why so much of mine ended up in boxes. A few years ago I gave away two big bookshelves... perhaps a mistake.

I think when we get rid of stuff there will always be things we regret getting rid of 😞 I'm sorry to hear.

My psychologist appt went well thanks - they usually do, I have an excellent psychologist thankfully who lets me set the agenda.

I actually didn't think of going to the GP about my skin itchiness @Dimity ...thanks. it's certainly lasted longer than I was expecting /hoping.

Am about to pop over to your Magic of Tidying thread to catch up with any of your news there...

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

So glad you have a good psychologist @NatureLover . Mine is very nice but I wonder if I'm making the best use of her time. I'd wanted to start reading up on a therapy and doing more homework but for a while have been in crisis management.

Yes I'd see the gp. They might give an opinion eg if it's allergy or vitamin deficiency and might prescribe a stronger cream to address the itch. I got good relief from dermatitis.

Hope you had another productive day.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I hope you won't load extra stuff on yourself if you are in crisis management @Dimity ...just getting through is hard enough 💚

(I've chosen a green heart for you as you love your gardening, but I don't know your favourite colour - what is it?)

I wasn't productive on Sunday, and yesterday was a work day, but am hoping to get some stuff done today on the kitchen and maybe the desk. However I've been awake since 4am so I may have to have a nap at some point...

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

To me colours are like music notes @NatureLover ... I don't have one favourite,  I enjoy them in juxtaposition.  Green for the garden is a nice thought. I remember my grandmother saying "all colours go in nature,  especially when there's green between".

You did very well to get the desk done after waking so early, I hope you weren't too tired afterwards.

My helper and I walked today before tackling some more decluttering. I've bought some more boxes to box offsite books but I'm not sure when I'll be able to access them. I raked up leaves to combine with the shredded paper in the green waste bins. It's slow progress.

I need to catch up in the garden, and I need to make space in the spare rooms Tomorrow's another day and I'll press on .

I hope your work went well today, and you can make progress in your kitchen tomorrow, even though you won't have your helper.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Thanks, @Dimity  ❤️ I wasn't too tired after tidying my desk luckily.

Sounds like you did well yesterday. But oh no - you can't access your books?

Yesterday before work I managed to clear the short kitchen bench and remove the rubbish to the bins and put them out. I feel pleased, as that bench is now functional again.

I'm feeling low today but I have a busy day, including a GP appt. GP appts are a challenge as I have to sit in a germy waiting room and do a lot of washing and a shower and hair wash afterwards. I don't think any decluttering will be done today, I think it will be a "just get through one hour at a time" day.

Glad you like the green heart. Hoping you have a productive day today 💚

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I'm glad you've got the kitchen bench functional again @NatureLover. You mentioned a few days ago the stove needed attention too - is it working now?

It sounds as though going to the GP is quite a trial. I hope it worked out OK.

I didn't really achieve anything today. I zoned out. I don't have any plans yet for the weekend, I'm too foggy.

All the best.
