Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hello @Clawde how are you?

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

@Dimity Good Today Thank you, kept busy, sort of …… 🎹 practising my piano.

Cleaning up the BBQ area, when small bursts of energy comes my why rarely lately 🤣

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Well done on cleaning the BBQ area @Clawde . Ready for entertaining. Yes you have to make the most of the times you have energy.  I always hope that by chipping away I'll get fitter and faster...

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I can feel how troubled you are at losing momentum. Is there anything critical/urgent you need to get done before your surgery?

I've been using the lightbox sporadically, but will start using it consistently once it gets too dark at 6am to go outside.

Yes, have decided to try to continue at work. I'm resting a lot at home, hence no reports of much tidying. Thanks for your kind words.

I'm at home today but have a dinner with the newlyweds tonight.

Hoping your day is successful (commitments or chores)...

@Dimity

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I expect you'll get back to tidying when you're ready @NatureLover . For now I'm glad you're coping as well as you are. It sounds as though you mainly use the lightbox in the mornings?

I'm muddling through appointments and admin stuff this week. I think the garden worries me more at the moment than the house as some of the weeds are quite bad. I still haven't completed the hospital paperwork. I might have a last-minute change of meds as the gp is concerned my blood pressure is too low. The vet today suggested an ultrasound for the cat. I love him dearly but the logistics are beyond me at the moment and it doesn't seem urgent.

I expect I'll have plenty of opportunity to sort through old files in the next few weeks. I'll have to have paid help to do heavy gardening and shift boxes of books in future. I can't imagine how I'll do it all. And I may have to find space for boxes and furniture that have been offsite for a long time.

It's lovely that you'll be spending time tonight with the newly-weds. I hope you're closer to them than your problematic father and some of his other family.

Take care @NatureLover , I appreciate our connection.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I appreciate our connection too, @Dimity . 🙂

Today was a crazy day. After my late-ish night last night, I slept in till 9.50, making me have to rush for work! And after work I had to do several things, meaning I only lay down just now (7pm).

Yes, I'm much closer to the newlyweds than to my father and others.

I thought of another reason today to not take any time off work at this point, making about 4 reasons now. So I hope to stay strong enough to continue.

Yes, the lightbox is for use first thing in the morning.

Does the last minute change of meds worry you? And do you have a date for your surgery yet, or are the tests this week going to establish that?

I'm glad your cat's condition doesn't seem urgent. 🤞

Gardens are lovely, but a lot of work 😣

I'm meeting a friend tomorrow who I only see once a year. I suspect her husband disapproves of me, as I'm no longer religious. So I'm never sure how that will go (the husband and young kids will be there).

I hope today has gone OK for you with your appointments and admin and chores. Take care.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

It sounds quite hectic for you @NatureLover . But the weekend is coming up soon.

I'm a bit torn about the cat. Perhaps I should follow up asap rather than risk him getting worse while I'm incapacitated. I'm booked for surgery Wednesday 5th February. The blood pressure meds are a nuisance.

I think I'm getting a bit overwrought and starting to overreact to small problems, there seems to be a lot of them. I'm losing track.

On the bright side I picked my first 3 cherry tomatoes today.

Good luck tomorrow.  I've lost touch with a very religious friend. I don't think her husband approved of me either, but the break was my fault rather than hers.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Yes, I bet the change of blood pressure meds is a nuisance. @Dimity

Thanks for sharing your date of surgery. Are you anxious about the surgery?

I know you're not allowed to lift anything during your convalescence, but I wonder if one of your helpers could help you take the cat to the vet?

I'm jealous of your cherry tomatoes being ready! I still only have about 4 tiny green objects on mine.

I admit I'll be glad when today is over so I can rest. I also need to pick up my meds at the chemist.

I hope your overwrought feeling subsides.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Yes I am anxious @NatureLover about the procedure and hospital stay and coping afterwards. But fatalistic.  I wouldn't like to continue much longer without trying the surgery.  I'm relieved to have finished the preadmission questionnaire which took hours. Today I lined up gardening help which is an admission of failure to get on top of it, but takes the pressure off my last week of preparation. It will be after I'm back home, and also gives me something to look forward to. I'm not sure about helper help for the cat. The helper time is only 1 1/2 hrs when I'd need to get Tiger to the vet first thing in the morning if he's going to be sedated then pick him up that night.

You've had a busy couple of weeks @NatureLover and you've made a big decision about persevering with work. No wonder you're tired. I hope you can catch your breath over the weekend and recover.

I'm glad to hear some of your tomatoes have finally set. Have they regrown much since the possum pruning?

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Well done on completing the massive questionnaire! @Dimity

Ah, I see re Tiger to the vet. That's more of a worry then 😥

No wonder you are anxious. Will you have help at home straight away when you get back home after your surgery? I mean, the same day and the days directly after?

Thanks for your good wishes. It was hard to get up this morning. After a walk I'm now lying down again.

Yes, the tomatoes grew up tall again on new stems, but the eaten stems didn't regrow. For 8 plants I can only count 4 actual tiny tomatoes. Such a lot of work for hardly any reward! I'm never having tomato plants again.

That's good you'll have the gardening help 👍

Good luck today...
