Sectioned incorrectly - need advocate

Does anyone have a NSW contact for an advocate? I’ve been sectioned because Police didn’t tell me that would happen if I didn’t come out of my house to talk to them. I didn’t want to talk to them but if they’d told me about this, I would have. I don’t fit the criteria but I can’t advocate for myself because the staff only see me as a psych patient who doesn’t get that respect

I have been sectioned so many times. Sometimes I fight it, but other times I just let it pass because I know I won't be there long. They don't keep people there for nothing. It costs the system a lot of $$$ lol. 

Hope things improve for you. 

One thing I have done once in the past when I was so angry I had to stay in there, was ask for a copy of my assessment order. They gave me a copy and I went through it with a fine tooth comb and showed them all the errors they made and that I shouldn't be in there...

Thank you Tyme for reaching out, what a terrible terrible experience and I’m sorry you’ve gone through it.

Both I and my sister asked for a copy of the assessment and were told it was ‘online’ and couldn’t be printed. Your advice is so valuable and I will be pursuing that info in a day or two once I’ve recovered (now that I’m out).
