Something's not right.

I have found that when I am not coping as well as I should, journalling helps a lot. Writing down my feelings and thoughts, knowing that nobody else will ever read them, is liberating. There is a lot we feel and think as carers that we believe we could never share with others. So to write stuff down, no matter how crazy it sounds, is very helpful. I write down what angers me, what grieves me, what frustrates me and what makes me realise that 'good' can sometimes result from  the very worst scenarios. I just rave on and feel much better afterwards. Does anyone else journal like this as a form of release?

I think journaling is a great way release frustrations or stresses!  Sometimes the simple act of writing things down allows you to consolidate your feelings and can give insight into how to deal with your situation.  If I'm particularly stressed or angry about a situation I like to write down all of my frustrations on a piece of paper, then once I'm done I either tear the paper up or burn it as a way of letting go of those frustrations.

I also find that when I'm feeling down or stressed about a situation, journaling the things I'm grateful for about that situation can help me change my perspective and bring some positivity into an otherwise bleak mind-set 🙂

Re: Something's not right.

I've been journalling for years! Started with an anonymous blog and as I accepted my position more, used it in treatment for my own mental health issues. I find journalling very theaputic, helps me sort out my thoughts clearly.

Congratulations! You're doing exactly the right thing to help you through your moods and struggles 🙂

Re: Something's not right.

Do you journal at any time of the day? I read this book called...um....the artists Way, oh, I've only read the first chapter but the book writes to journal first thing in the morning. I started that But my mind was a bit fragile......so, you write ....same book all the time??

Re: Something's not right.

I quite like the concept of writing the same story because it reminds me of Groundhog Day or 50 First Dates..the day may seem the same but I bet the words you use change over time! And most writers often talk of reviewing and editing and rewriting as a necessary part of writing.
What about we write about our best day ever? Nothing is impossible so I am definitely borrowing the Tardis so I can maximum travel time😃

Cool idea @Alessandra1992

Why don't you start a new discussion so others can find it? Maybe in "Spending Time with Others" ?

Maybe you need to take up squash or get a punching bag to burn up some frustration and energy...then think about joining a meditation group
