Re: Consumer

Hiya Loop,

I sent you a somewhat controversial reply earler today but the moderators pulled it.

I'll try to be good from now on.

Promise

Fart..  Sorry that was an accident.

Re: Consumer

Ha ha! Well fart is a popular term when combined with old!! Ha ha again!
The moderators are I think being really flexible with their moderation @Gray, I have had a few posts pulled because of swearing/cussing..I don't mind a bit really as it makes me think how does one express one's frustrations, without resorting to cussing? I reckon some slang might do the trick, anyone have any handy? My giddy Aunt springs to mind, only why she's always giddy I will never know..

Re: Consumer

Hi Alessandra,

You are probably right about the moderators being flexible, swearing etc but sometimes, just sometimes, only a good old profanity will do the job.

What I am yet to come to terms with is the fact that someone, other than the intended recipient, reads my private words, before the addressee.

I understand why though and as I said will try to be a good boy from now on.

I might add that I don't do Face Book, Twitter or anything like that... I only do email.

I am also about to join another Forum too re pain management and perhaps this exercise with Sane has been good training for me..

Re: Consumer

That is great news you are joining a pain management forum @gray...it will hopefully provide some great support around pain management and pain acceptance..it is really really hard to not be overwhelmed by pain..
Yes profanities are always checked, in Forum feedback we have often asked for the banned list, but I am not even sure if that's possible. Might be run using an algorithm..
What does work is symbols, emoticons of how you are feeling...and a picture paints a thousand words, or just one!
What are your plans for 2015? Me, I am aiming for early nights, and less nagging!! 🙂

Re: Consumer

Hiya Alessandra

Yeah, pain..  Makes me swear a lot. Ha Ha.

Must be honest, I have no plans for 2015 other than to exist. I spend most of my time feeling sorry for myself because of Smiley Frustrated pain.

I also bleed for my son who lives in another state. I dont have the money or the physical ability to go there and he is simply incapable of visiting me because of his mental illness.

"Early Nights?"  Trouble sleeping??

"Less Nagging?"... are you the one nagging or the one being nagged?

"algorithm?"  Oooooh, don't you know some big words. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Consumer

Some websites run programs based on algorithm, like a formula that automatically stops words, or redirects searches to different parts of a database..
Essentially, depends on who is writing program for the stop words on the forum, which I don't mind as it is quite a clever system that alerts us to the fact we need to rewrite what we've written, or the moderators receive it and let us know there's an issue.
I am no programmer but I kinda like the system in place as it's designed to keep our community safe.
Language can be very confrontational at times, and very healing at others...There's a place for both don't you think @Gray?
