Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

hello,

i've been looking for a resource like this for so long...  i'm a frequent flier for some presentation things and bits, but have largely managed multiple complex traumas and some associated comings and goings.

i wanted to ask about where should i look for something.  my experience has brought me to want to embark on a grassroots education/awareness effort if not campaign to share insights about mental health, things like saneforums, to increase awareness, acceptance, and fluency in what are undeniably increasing shares of our collective and individual pies... so to speak.

i wanted to learn what dynamics effect grassroots interaction like i describe; what limits do target audiences inherently have, what biases should be treated with utmost regard, etc.; that sort of stuff...

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

Hi _Alyssa,

Welcome to the forums, and thank you for introducing yourself! It’s great to hear that you’re interested in grassroots education and awareness around mental health. Initiatives like these can make a big difference in promoting understanding and acceptance.

For insights into grassroots efforts, you might find it helpful to explore topics like community engagement strategies, addressing stigma, and effective communication techniques. There are also resources available on mental health advocacy that might align with your goals.

Feel free to share more details about your vision or ask specific questions—we’d love to support you in this journey!

Warm regards,

SunfIower

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

Hi there, I just made this account after feeling quite lonely and hopeless sitting in a "puddle" of non-stop anxiety for the last week or so. Including some bad emotional episodes and intense disregulation, I feel very lost. People keep telling me it's ok, my triggered behaviour stems from childhood, but that doesn't seem to help me - even though for about 5 years now I have acknowledged certain events in my childhood that may contribute to my current emotional landscape, I don't know how to heal. Frustrated, tired of feeling this way and the shame that comes with it. Looking for community, support, and maybe healing. Love to you all ❤️

Hi @Mewmew 👋

I just wanted to step in and welcome you to the forums.  Anxiety I have suffered has been the result if circumstances driven by a narcissistic ex and his family, but no matter what the cause, anxiety is a common experience here on the forums, so you are in good company here.  I have used distraction and self-care as strategies, but many others here will likely join the conversation and offer their advice and support.  Good on you for reaching out.  You’re not alone …. 😏

Hi there,

44yr she/her/cis, living in Adelaide.

Fun facts

I'm a first generation Aussie, with my older brother and parents coming from NZ.

Although mum tried to teach me as a teen, I've finally learnt how to crochet.

Look forward to chatting

Welcome @Mazz_SA so nice to meet you!

I want to learn how to crochet! I taught myself a bit and made a few dodgy crochet hats back in lockdown times but now I've forgotten again and need to re-learn. What sort of things do you like to crochet?

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

I like making useable/wearables.

I've made face cloths, pot holders, wrist lanyards, tops etc and I'm making my second lap blanket. I love the patterns and sometimes a quick finished item gives me dopamine. But with chronic fatigue a blanket requires less cognitive input.

Hi @Daisydreamer

I’m sure I’ve read this somewhere before but I can’t find it now, but what do these descriptions mean?
For eg you are a Senior Contributor and other people have different descriptions I think I’ve see Peer Support.

Cheers

Hello @Mazz_SA , @Till23 😊

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

@Shaz51

Thanks

I see you are a community guide - I’m wondering what these titles mean.
I think everyone is a Lived Experience person but are some people also employed by Sane or asked to hold these senior positions? I’m just interested in how it works.
