@Snowie I can understand to some extent that feeling when people say CSA happened years or decades ago and you should be over it. I’ve heard that many times including from family. I don’t know if they are trying to protect themselves or they really think that. Some people definitely think that, but they just don’t understand.
Only you know what it’s like for you @Snowie and that’s all that matters -it’s your life.

Unfortunately it isn't the first time that it has been dismissed and it probably won't be the last. If I could distance myself from them I would.

It does not surprise me @Snowie it will probably be their continuing narrative. So you have to remember that your narrative is the only thing important to you.
I just don’t bring it up with some members of my family, because I know it’s pointless or actually it will be worse for me.

I never say anything back to them. Just adding fuel to the fire. I won't change their ways/thinking so don't put any of my energy into responding to them.
Sometimes it's just not worth it.
