Re: Procrastination and stress

@Jynx we shouldn’t forget the other cats that visit. The most common visitor is Roxy, but we overhead the neighbours calling her that. We also call Megan chalak, which means cunning/clever/smart in Urdu. Potato actual full name is aloo samosa, which is a samosa filled with potato.

I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do. My pdoc thinks I need it right now and so do I. I just hope no further increases are needed in the future

Re: Procrastination and stress

hey @creative_writer how've you been? 😊

just read your last post, you have a cat named potato? aloo samosa is so cute hahaha love that

Re: Procrastination and stress

@rav3n things are getting better, probably need to stick with the new med regime. Hopefully the scatteredbrainness will get better, it’s hard. I did accidentally fall on the stairs, but I’m okay, might have a small bruise. It’s probably a sign I need to slow down. I hope you are doing well tonight💖

It’s not my cat lol. We name our neighbours cats. Don’t know if you’ve ever had those samosas with potato fillings. They can be delicious, those aloo samosa. Aloo is the shortened name, which means potato. Though I think it was my sister’s idea to name him that

Re: Procrastination and stress

@creative_writer ahh i see! so fair, it does take time to adjust to new meds sometimes, please do take it easy! oh my, glad you're okay from the fall!! i had an embarrassing fall down the KFC stairs last year... had to get my mum to give me a massage 😆 hopefully those bruises heal quickly!!

ohh haha still very cute! i am very lucky to have had MANY samosas in my life hehe love them! i'm a big fan of potato in general, they're so versatile - you can potato gems, wedges, fries, etc. have you had masala dosa before? those are some of my fav breakfast foods with potato too.

Re: Procrastination and stress

@creative_writer omg yes those samosas are sooooo good!! Aww aloo means potato! I love it!! My fav language for the word potato is German - it's a 'kartoffel' over there!! And 'kopf' is head, so you might call someone a 'Kartoffelkopf!' which is just so silly and I love it 🤣

Aye I hope it helps you to find a bit more stability too hun, fingers crossed! And if it gave you some bonus proprioception, all the better, sounds like you're a bit short on that one too just like me 😅 I'm always bonking into things!

Re: Procrastination and stress

@rav3n meds adjustment will take a while, the effects build up over time. I am very clumsy, my flexible joints get the best of me at times. Though, I probably shouldn't be running on the stairs either. Once I actually hit my lower back on the stairs, that wasn't great and I had to take a break from vigorous exercise. I just hadn't fallen on the stairs for a while, I thought I was doing well. I just happen to slip today, but at least injuries were minimal. I don't think I've had masala dosa, that might be more South Indian, I'm more familiar with Pakistani cuisine. Though I am sure it tastes as amazing as you say. Potato is indeed versatile

Re: Procrastination and stress

@creative_writer yikes so you're prone to this then 😫 yep my KFC fall involved hitting my lower back, and it was PAINFUL!!!!! when we're kids/teens all this clumsy accidents seem fine but once we become adults... they definitely become scarier, really glad your injuries were minimal!! pls do slow down (although i know in the moment its hard to remember)!

yepp masala dosa is south indian! ohh i see, i don't think i've tried a variety of Pakistani food before but i reckon there's some overlap considering both our cultures enjoy samosas 😉

Re: Procrastination and stress

@Jynx I feel aloo sounds funnier than potato, kartoffel also sounds funny. I feel like sometimes words sound funnier or even more dramatic in different languages 🤣. I think we are crazier together 🤣.

@rav3n I am more familiar with North Indian, from my understanding South Indian is a bit different. I am sure there is overlaps. I also find overlaps of Pakistani food with Iranian or Afghan Cuisine

Re: Procrastination and stress

Yes love it @creative_writer! Yeah it's so wild, I do wish I'd learned a second language much earlier in life (gets harder as you get older apparently) because apparently being bilingual can alter the way you perceive and conceptualise the world! Which just goes to show how much of a role language plays in our mental state.

I do love that the Germans seem to have a word for everything too! Or they use funny compounds of words - like the German word for bat is 'fledermaus' which translates to flying mouse!!

Re: Procrastination and stress

@Jynx it is easier when you’re younger, but it’s never too late. The brain is incredibly plastic. What language would you learn? German.

I was just thinking if the shame and ickiness and grossness I feel is a result of feeling shut down, why do I still feel it even when I am given the space to share my thoughts and emotions
