Re: My Mosaic

Hi @tyme I hope things can settle down for you. The xmas period can be so busy at times, normally over busy. We all need that down time.

@Bow I hope your day is going ok and SIL isn't too over the top.

Hope you both are having good days

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Snowie

Family have left and I’ve just got changed into comfy clothes and crawled onto my bed. I’m tired. And don’t feel great.

hows your day been?

Re: My Mosaic

Well done for getting through lunch @Bow

Nothing better than comfy clothes!

Sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you are not coming down with something.

My day's been ok. Did some cooking. Super hot here today so staying inside

Settled on the couch now with a cuppa.

Re: My Mosaic

I think the last 1 1/2hrs I was just waiting for them to leave @Snowie  tired of listening to them and I was tired and hot. It’s a hot one here too.

they shared the news that they are expecting. So that was nice.

glad your days been ok by the sounds of it. Productive too? What kind of cooking did you do?

Re: My Mosaic

It's hard @Bow It's good to be in the comfort of your home but then you have to wait for people to leave. If you go to someone's house you don't have the comfort of escaping for a bit, but then you can decide when to leave.

Thats exciting that they are expecting.

Made some Chow Mein and Spaghetti today. Freezing them into single serve containers and putting in the freezer. Then when we go away kids don't have to worry about dinner. All they have to do is get it out of the freezer, heat it up and dinner time!! Stops them from getting take out too.

Got another 4 meals to cook during the week.

Just put the bins out for tomorrow morning. It's about 42 outside atm.

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah gotta toss up which is the best option eh @Snowie … hosting or going. My niece doesn’t have a day nap anymore so I think that’s why they stayed so long.

just let the kittens out for a run. They missed their afternoon one. They are getting braver, exploring everywhere and running all over the place. They are passed out now sleeping!

just had a storm come through and I’m curled up on my bed again. Had some ham on toast for dinner and hoping that I don’t regret that tonight. I have the same kind of sickness I had when we were away. Heartburn/ indigestion.

I like chow mein and spaghetti. Good that you can cook meals for your kids for when you are away. My friend does that for her son (who is like 30!) otherwise he will just eat nutrigrain. your kids are much younger though.

our bins are still out…. Too hot to go out and collect them and not the storm has knocked them over.

do you have much on this week?

Re: My Mosaic

It's hard to know what option is better @Bow I think it changes depending who the people are too.

It would be nice to be like the kittens. Run around and then sleep peacefully!!

Thats not good if you don't feel well hon. Do you need to book into the gp?

At least I know they aren't eating sh*t when I'm away. Loading everything up with vegies!

I will do a big shop before I go too, so they have milk, bread, etc. Will leave some money for them too so they can get things if they need it.

Got a fair bit on this week but mainly to do with mum. Have her gp and then visiting 2 nursing homes. We thought if she could look at the homes near us and then decide where she wants to go if she gets to the stage where she needs 24hr care. S starts school Thursday so good bye to sleep ins!

Have you got much on? How do you feel about seeing your psych this week?

Re: My Mosaic

I do need to go have my bloods done and should probably see my gp @Snowie  kinda been putting it off though.

Sounds like your kids will be well prepared and looked after hon! Have they been on their own for long before? What about your mum?

it’s good that your going around and seeing nursing homes. How does she feel about that at the moment? I actually watched a movie yesterday called Still Alice, about a 50yr old who was diagnosed with dementia and showed how it very quickly progressed for her. She went and looked at home by herself she wanted to know what it would be like. Good movie.

Last first for your son!

not much on this week. My SW is away tomorrow. That’s 5 days. Wednesday I got arts and craft and then have to go see my CM finally. Thursday psychologist which I am heaps anxious about cause I feel like I was reprimanded for not going last week. Don’t think she seen me doing what I needed to do to just get through the day as the right thing to do. 😩🤷🏼‍♀️

Re: My Mosaic

Maybe make it a goal for this week or next @Bow. Bloods and gp.

They've been on their own before but never for this long. D will be home so she can drive S to school and to work. He will probably just catch the bus home.

Mum is staying home. I did talk to her about respite but she said she would be fine at home. I guess I can't make her go. I have spoken to both kids about checking in on her daily and they seem fine with that. Worst case, my brother can always help mum. About time he steps up 😏

Her gp recommended it and she was actually fine with the idea. I think if she can even narrow it down to 1 or 2 then when its time, hopefully they have room for her.

I guess all you can do is to see how you feel about your psych appointment a day before hand or on the day. It has to be what is right for you hon. You know what's best for you.

I hope your arts and craft group is more than just colouring in.
