Re: Morning has broken

Oooo @Bow , That service sounds so so great! I wish they have more of that. Then again, I can't complain, I got so much support myself when I was linked in with Area MH. We had things like dancing, art and craft, yoga, book club, meditation, coffee and cake, dog walking etc.

As for the church stuff, I'm closely linked in with the church, but I don't hold any position. I've been going there since I was 8 years old. It's my second home and the older people have seen me grow up. We have links to churches in other parts of Australia as well as some churches overseas. So I've been to a lot of the different churches around the place which is linked to the one I go to now. I make resources for the kids and send it to them.

Re: Morning has broken

Lol.. well, I won't exactly say I'm a competitive swimmer lol. I mean, swimming for therapy to help you in your recovery? But I hear it's not so much up your alley lol.

My sister interstate was just showing me her daughter's swimming carnival results. She came 1st, 2nd or 3rd in all her races. She came first in all the ones for her age group, but in the races where she was competing with kids a few years older, she came 2nd or 3rd.

My niece is 7 yrs old. She's is up at 5am three times a week for swimming training, and then has races on Saturday...

Now THAT's committment from a 7 year old. And she doesn't want to quit. She loves it.  @Eve7

I don't know how people do it.

Re: Morning has broken

Yeah it’s a pretty good service @tyme  very thankful for it, certainly didn’t have anything like it 20yrs ago when I struggled with my mh.

your church sounds nice. That’s what mine was like for me. My second home. My second family. I was doing some kind of church thing multiple times a week. One of the first people there and the last to leave. Without it I felt lost. I was on the deacon team for years, ran connect groups, helped with youth/ kids was always doing something and I ended up working for the church for years too. Then my pastors stepped down and a young couple took over and everything changed.
our church is also similar in that we relate to many other churches around Australia and overseas. My old pastors actually travel around a lot inputting into all those other churches.

Re: Morning has broken

Certainly great that you can have those MH supports in your area. I'm sure people benefit from them.

That's certainly very interesting @Bow  regarding how the church changes. I guess that's life... people come, people go...

Anyway, I'm hopping off shortly. Just going to start wrapping up if I don't get to chat to you again. I'll see you mid week when I'm on next. 🙂 Oh, and also, Jynx probably told you but they are away until next week.
