Re: I don’t feel belonged

I wonder if you can ask them for feedback about your application @Blackcloud ?

Also, sometimes it's not about you, but more about what they need at that time.

Re: I don’t feel belonged

@tyme yeah I guess so..

also, I asked the reception about if my rent will continue to have the increase amount after the 4th November and they said no, and that as of now I’ll only be paying the supposed rent amount per week which is a relief!!!

Re: I don’t feel belonged

@tyme so I just messaged the boba tea store on Instagram about not receiving a response from any of the hiring managers from the store and they asked me if I can please walk into the store to hand in my resume and ask if they’re still hiring?
Nah why would I walk into the store to hand in my CV and ask if they’re hiring that’s kinda nerve wracking 😭😭😭 especially when it’s only the employees that are working there but the manager isn’t present.

Because what do the employees do about it after you ask them? Do they like take the resume off of you and pass it on to their manager?

@rav3n also i had the appointment with my OT yesterday and it went well!! We made fried eggs & the walnut hummus dip together. I’m so happy that I’m able to have someone that can guide me through the process of cooking, and hopefully I’ll be able to become an expert at frying eggs in no time (:

Re: I don’t feel belonged

@Blackcloud ooo fried egg and walnut hummus dip sounds great!! really glad you're enjoying it, and i have NO doubt you're going to become an expert at frying eggs on your own in no time 😎

also read about your resume stuff - i know it sounds nerve-wracking handing in a resume in person, but it is pretty common! i've done it myself a couple times, usually for retail and food/drinks stores. i'd print like 10 copies of my resume and go to my local shopping centre and hand them to a few stores. you can just let them know that you're interesting in applying for 'X' position (i usually said customer service role or sales assistant role) and that you'd like your resume passed onto the manager. sometimes companies view this as the candidate being 'eager' for the role if they're willing to come to the store to apply. sounds like the manager for the boba store wants to get a sense of who you are/how are interested you are, and maybe they might be present when you hand it in so it's a chance to impress them!

Re: I don’t feel belonged

@rav3n ahh damn it now I have to do that too ?? 😭😭😭

Anything that’s face to face gives me anxiety so idk how I’m gonna do this, especially if I were to hand in my resume to an employee there lol idk it just seems pretty awkward doing it like that I can imagine

Re: I don’t feel belonged

@Blackcloud i feel you!!! my social anxiety spikes up at these sort of stuff as well. if you asked me 7 years ago if i'd ever go up to a store and hand in my resume, i would've laughed and said over my dead body... but i did it and you definitely are capable too!! it's usually a quick chat/interaction (sometimes the manager isn't there so the whole thing takes 10 seconds). i had a mini script rehearsed for when i did interact with employees/managers which helped me feel a bit calmer - maybe you can write out a script for yourself too to help with the nerves?

also just to be clear - you're not expected to go up to managers/stores and apply in person all the time, in fact you can even just ring up stores and ask if they're hiring, or a good majority of companies make you apply through their company website/seek/indeed/etc now. but since the boba place requested you to come to the store, sounds like you might have to face them for this one.

Re: I don’t feel belonged

@rav3n @tyme @Ru-bee any of you guys up?

Yesterday I managed to get in contact with this bulk billing psychology clinic, and I’m about to have my very first appointment with a provisional psychologist in 2 more days. The cost for the Telehealth sessions with her are $83 (including the 2% surcharge) and for face to face it’s $97 (including the 2% surcharge). I’m gonna have the session with her through Telehealth in the afternoon.

Also, I managed to get my first private health insurance. However, what I hate about it is that now the insurance doesn’t cover the supplements I get prescribed by my naturopath. Apparently in the past you can get covered for that but since then they abandoned that option to cover you for that (anything your naturopath prescribes you)… which is a shame… now I can use the insurance to pay for any of the upcoming acupuncture appointments I’m gonna book at anytime soon as of now.

Also, as of within the past few days I had to make quite a few big purchases, well those purchases I had to do so for very important/necessary reasons though, but just thinking about it and looking at my account balance to see how much money I’ve wasted…yeah.. but yea the last purchase for that I’ve made was $79.45 for the healthy haircare + skin/digestion supplements. And then next will be $83 for the psychology session and then $55 for the upcoming skin consultation…ugh…

In terms of having the insurance covering for psychology sessions though, apparently from what I was told, he reckons/suggested me to get a MHCP from my GP first if I wanna see an actual psychologist (provisional psychologists don’t count as they’re not fully qualified), and then once I use up all of the 10 sessions, then I can add the psychology option onto my private health insurance.. 🤔

Re: I don’t feel belonged

Wow. It's like you've had to grow up over night @Blackcloud . From not having to handle any of this, to having to do it all.

Go slow. It sounds like you are one to just get things done.

Hope you have a good week 🙂

Re: I don’t feel belonged

@tyme thank you, I mean making a few big purchases is still something that I’m still thinking about tbh ngl. It’s why I haven’t been spending my money on anything today and yesterday. Now I’m gonna have to spend $83 on the psychology Telehealth session 😞 and then a further $55 on the upcoming skin consultation appointment which is gonna be on Saturday..

I really wish they would make any skin related situations as part of the cover for insurance as well (if not only private health insurance 🤔 )

Re: I don’t feel belonged

That's a lot of money for a telehealth appointment @Blackcloud And I'm assuming you don't get any of it back?
