ohh i see you've got a lot going on! i get how waiting that one week can be tough, i'm assuming you're moving out to get some space from family members? - how are you coping with your family right now? do you have any self-care/calming tools or activities that help you manage? @Blackcloud
ahh yep, have you talked to a chemist/pharmacist about the supplements? sometimes they can recommend a cheaper version of the same thing, unless you're specifically after a particular brand. looks like you're working hard to manage your budget though, it's definitely tough but the fact that you're recording your potential expenses shows you're on the right track! are you able to get support from Centrelink for the rent stuff?

@Blackcloud so fair about staying out haha i do the same thing. what do you usually do when you're staying out?
i usually go 'study' at a cafe (i'm just scrolling through my phone, watching movies on my laptop or catching up with a friend) or i sit in the car listening to my fav songs, or even go for long walks to pass the time

@rav3n yes that’s right. Idk how I’m really coping with them to be honest, and yea I do have some coping mechanisms and stuff that help me manage my emotions and stuff I guess.
I have talked to the pharmacist via email last time, but their response was not what I wanted to hear.
Though at the same time, I actually did have a look at the reviews of each of the supplements on their website, and basically one of their supplements I’m currently using (the supplement that targets “everything”??) — a few users there have mentioned about themselves not getting as much period cramps as before etc., one has mentioned that they haven’t been breaking out much. Cause since that company has another supplement there that targets ONLY specifically towards PMS + period cramps, as well as a supplement that targets ONLY specifically towards breakouts, that was the reason why I had to buy 3 a month.
To be honest, whenever I take the ‘breakout’ supplements, those come with capsules, and they make me wanna gag everytime I take them lol. I have noticed a bit of a difference on my acne though ever since I took those so i don’t think I can give up on those.
but yeah, idk about the cramps supplements cause, even though they did lowkey help decrease the ‘sharp’ pain on my period cramps by like 50% I guess, I still do get those pains on my first day of my period regardless.
However, I did purchase one of the heat pads from another company which is over $100 since I’ve read sooooo many 5 star reviews about that one, and ever since I started using that heat pad for my period a few weeks ago, it actually helped my period cramps by A TON!!! It’s the reason why it’s expensive too cause the product itself is so effective and is a lifesaver.
with Centrelink, I did get in touch with them 2 days ago and I’ve already uploaded my lease contract on my Centrelink account. I think I just need to update my accomodation details on there by the time I move in and then that’s when they’ll assess my eligibility for rent assistance.

@rav3n ahh, usually I go around for walks as well, even if I wanna go to the CBD (walking from my home to the CBD). But if I need to go to uni or even go to the library to do my assignments, then I go there too. I like to mainly study at locations (like in different libraries) that doesn’t involve being at home because of the situation… plus it can easily distract me and hinder me from focusing on online classes if I did online class at home instead of somewhere outside of that. I also like to go on my phone too while I’m out (but not the whole time I’m out tho lol I needa have breaks from screen time)

i hear you @Blackcloud staying out for a while seems like a good strategy as well! once you're home are you able to stay in your room uninterrupted? i use showers/toilets as a place to get space as well. my family think i sit around the toilet for hours cos I'm constipated but really I'm just chilling, getting some personal space and catching up on things via phone 😆
ohh i see! so this supplement stuff has a lot to do with hormonal/period stuff, i see you've done lots of research too! if this is related to period pain, this might be a weird one but my sister found coconut water super helpful (she drank it regularly). ooo that heat pad sounds good, glad that investment was worth it!!
fingers crossed the centrelink eligibility gets approved!!!

@Blackcloud nice! libraries are some of fav places to hide around in too! i relate to the distraction part, i'd also book rooms in libraries to do online classes. really glad you've got some places to hang around in when home's a bit chaotic. also i'm going to heading off soon but @tyme will be around if you still want to chat! was lovely talking to you, hope everything goes well with the moving in! 💙

i hate the ndis I’m sick & tired of them…
they always take long to get back to you. Well as of currently I have already submitted my “change of circumstances” application to them after the NDIS senior complaints officer that spoke to me on the phone last time suggested me to do that.
It’s been over a week and a half since I sent it in and haven’t received a response from them. I’m thinking of sending Bill Shorten (my local MP) a response again in order for the NDIS staff to hurry up & process my application quickly & what the outcome is, but I guess I’ll give it a few more days for now and then I’ll send bill shorten another email when that time comes then.
im sick & tired of NDIS’ response constant response that they’re experiencing a huge backlog of this and that which is why contacting my local mp is highly recommended then having to keep contacting ndis over and over again.
why I need this application to be processed quickly is so that, if I get approved for it, then I’d be able to get access to some of the additional NDIS supports that I’ve requested on that current application that I didn’t initially have on my current NDIS plan initially. Especially the psychology supports.
but I guess it was my fault as well that I originally didn’t tell the NDIS planner at the beginning that I wanted some psychology supports because at that time I thought I’d be better off with just relying on counselling. But since my counsellor suggested me to see a psychologist for more long term supports, that’s why I really want/need the psychology supports and I wanna use that through my NDIS funds, not through the MHCP plan because with the MHCP plan you’re required to pay out of pocket even if it was in Medicare rebate.

Arghhhh @Blackcloud ,
Hearing you. Sounds like you are one of the many many who are experiencing something similar - LONG wait times.
I hope you hear back from them soon! I hear how frustrating it can be for you.
In the meanwhile, have you found a psychologist you like? Maybe you can be on their waitlists just so you don't have to wait later? Also, can you use the 10 sessions from a mental health care plan - but there's probably a gap fee to pay.
Unfortunately, dental and psychology is not cheap.

@tyme I have already found one that best matches with the issues I’m having that she’s qualified/knows about.
with the 10 sessions though, is it 10 sessions per year?
and my occupational therapist and her supervisor did tell me last time about the “free sessions (with the MHCP)” but I don’t think the sessions being “free” exists cause I’ve never came across it? Unless I’m wrong about that, feel free to enlighten me 🙂

I'm not sure about the 'free' MHCP. You only get 'free' if you don't need to pay a gap. This means you need to find a psychologist that doesn't charge a gap.
For me, all my treatment was 'free'. I never paid anything in all my years of psychotherapy, but that was because my psychologist wasn't paying a gap (back then). @Blackcloud
If I saw him now, I have to pay about $30 but that's because I don't have a concession card.
