@TAB I don't know anything about these manufacturing methods but anecdotally can say Kaizen philosophy has helped me reach my goals better. But I have written down all the guiding philosophies you mentioned as Kaizen is outdated. 

But it still seems to work with our ambitions in life and holds merit if we want to attain personal goals.

If I had of tried to set for myself unattainable goals I would have failed. It was the methodical process of slow actionable steps that has improved my life over time. It just sits well with me thats all. 

I'm interested in exploring books on the manufacturing philosophies you recommended as it relates to industrial psychology and how it can be applied to ordinary folks like us in our own lives

Stay cool, I'm trying to decide whether I want to go out to lunch for my birthday or not, considering we had big meals on Christmas and New Years' day I really should consider going for a walk instead, but that's no fun! Lol!

..yeah I know, am getting a bit silly about it as all new to me and not sure I can do the job let alone get it lol re now experience. still, I shouldnt be treating it as though it was the last job on Earth and My Only Chance lol.. better to be like classmate who got trainer job then got paid to get qualified while teaching. i said to them, guess you;ll get a payrise now you are qualified ? he said no, I already asked for and got one or said would go somewhere else lol .. so yeah, might be interesting re the money side of things, they stated a range of , then advertised for electrician trainer that was like starting at high end of mine and going beyond. supply and demand I guess. still if money does come up I think I could say if on bottom rate that means I am looking for next job. they can afford to pay more. they get a lot of money from govt etc as well as industry @ENKELI  thanks
