Am I the only one with it? BPD

I'm pretty open with telling people I have BPD. I think I'm trying to see if someone will say they have it to.

Most of the time someone will say they know someone with depression or they sometimes get nervous too. But not BPD.

Mental health is getting great exposure now but I still feel so alone in my BPD life.

If you have BPD just say yes to this. I feel so alone in such a complex illness.

Re: Am I the only one with it? BPD

I was assuming bipolar disorder but maybe I have it wrong - sorry @BPD-life if I  have.  Confused now.

Re: Am I the only one with it? BPD

Sorry I didn't even say hi properly @BPD-life !!
Welcome to the forums! I have been dx with major depressive d, anxiety and cptsd- I know I have some borderline traits but my psychologist is helping me focus on surviving life and developing coping strategies and self care stuff!
Regardless of your dx everyone here can relate in different ways to each other, you are definitely not alone!
I'm impressed and in awe of your ability to share with real world peeps about your mi and I think you're doing so much to break down the stigma in your corner of the world - one day I would like to be able to be open with people about myself too,
I really hope to see you around the forums

Golly sorry For the confusion everyone.
Borderline Personality Disorder is what I meant.

Diagnosed just over a year after thinking I was a crazy out of control person..

Re: Am I the only one with it? BPD

@BPD-lifeI always get confused about what BPD stands for.  I agree with what @Former-Member says about how we can have great, open conversations here and support each other even with different diagnoses.  Look forward to hearing more from you if you choose.

Hi @Former-Member
Thank you for your above message. It does make sense not to box one "illness" in when the lines can blur so easily..

I'll be around. This is totally new to me but feels like a journal with a heart.

Thank you for welcoming me.

Re: Am I the only one with it? BPD

Yes.

Ive always hated diagnoses in relation to myself (I have previously been misdiagnosed and never felt I was full able to relate to it, sure I had some criteria but so much didn't feel right) but BPD 'feels' correct and that terrifies me but it also calms me. So often I will read or hear someone talk about BPD and it's a light bulb moment for me.

I would love to talk to people about it. I so often feel so alone with it and so far I haven't felt able to share this with my family or friends. Only my GP and the mental health professionals I work with know.
