@Former-Member , thank you for sharing this story. I am so sorry you have been stereotyped. People are always afraid of what they don't know or don't understand. Your words speak of someone deeply empathetic and kind. I think the therapists you have seen are not trauma informed/specialised at all. How can a professionally trained trauma psychologist turn you away? Trauma comes in various shapes and forms and from what I have learnt in my journey with my husband is that it takes someone really special to be a trauma specialised psychologist. Would you consider finding a specialised trauma psychologist? I can't stand that you have been turned away and shut down like that. I don't mean to be a downer, you deserve to be healed. I know you are working on that every day but I hope you feel supported enough.
My heart goes out to you @Former-Member .
Sending you 🫂 hugs, love and healing ❤️🩹.

Thank you so much @Healandlove 💜🌺🙂
these were specific trauma therapists - supposedly trained in trauma informed practices, unfortunately.
I haven’t been able to speak with someone that wasn’t trauma informed - they would ask me about what I was looking for before they would let me make a booking, and I would say I would like to work through trauma..they pretty much hang up after saying it’s not their specialty, so I learned to call ones that had trauma therapy in their bio. It’s just unfortunate that even though I was minimising and framing the trauma very softly to cater to them in terms of vicarious trauma, many of them started crying and terminated the session once we got started talking. I started with what I considered the most mild stuff, but it was just too much for anyone to cope with.
So I have learned alone how to frame my experiences from a different perspective - pretty much learning on my own how to live alongside immense emotional pain and be ok with it most of the time 🙂
I do feel very alone though. It would be nice to speak with someone who has the professional chops to hear just a little, which may then feel a bit nice to be heard.
I don’t know..I also don’t want to hurt someone with what is a very difficult set of circumstances to hear..however I do remind myself it’s in the past, and it’s there for me to use to my advantage, and it’s not there to continue to cheese-grate away my life 💜🌺🙂

Hey there @Adge 🙂🌺
It’s not an easy road having bowel illnesses, and us porcelain throne frequent flyers gotta stick together ☺️💜🌺
I’m really sorry to hear work isn’t going so well, and you aren’t able to have enough time to recover and regenerate.
Kindly, I would consider this a risk to your overall health, as well as having the potential to impact your productivity at work, and being fatigued and pushing through at work can in some instances increase risks of injury..is there someone you can speak with either in the workplace or a workplace provider that can examine the situation and find a solution for you?
Worksafe australia has an entire fatigue risk management document here: managing risk of fatigue at work so I wanted to kindly include it in case it might be helpful 🙂💜🌺
Nestle Resource is useful isn’t it 💜🙂 I also get Fresubin and Fortijuce (two other brands available) but they don’t taste as good..however a bit of variety is helpful sometimes 🙂
I use the dairy free versions because I become dairy intolerant when I’m flare or with diverticulitis bouts.
the process I used was to get a care plan referral from GP to a dietician, and then the dietician prescribed Nestle Resource (or other ones) and then what they do is send the prescription to the supplier, who then registers you as one of their prescriptive nutrition customers - you are issued a customer number, and they then have your script for medical nutrition interventions on file. You then phone them to place an order, and they deliver to your home. If you order over a certain amount, you don’t pay a delivery charge. The dietician will put ‘one 24 item case per month’ or something like that, but you do not have to go with the timing of the prescription - you just order what you need when you need it. And it’s handy to ask the dietician to write the prescription timeframe for the maximum which is 12 months (they may not do it, but I said I have used Nestle Resource many times in the past to support nutrition in bouts of malabsorption and they then agreed). The supplier then reminds you of the expiry date of the script, and so I usually save one of the care plan appointments for just before the care plan expiry date of the dietician appointments, and ask for another 12 month script - that means I always have one in place when I need to make an order.
the dietician can also write a variety of scripts so you can have one with the three different providers (Nestle Resource, Fresubin, Fortijuce - they are all contracted through different medical nutrition providers), so you can pick and choose - I keep scripts running at all three provider’s because some are better at quick delivery than others (if needed).
I should add that once you have an appointment with a dietician (I used to do Telehealth or phone call), the script is usually electronically sent to the various suppliers that day, and the email saying you are registered with the supplier comes not long after that, and usually you can call them and place an order immediately afterwards. The prescribed nutrition is subsidised by the government, and we pay roughly half the usual price that the supplier would normally charge 🙂
The problem with increased food transit time is that bile and pancreatic enzymes integral to digestion aren’t being released quickly enough to be mixed with food - this also influences how food is further digested and absorbed in the intestines further down the digestive tract, and can result in both mechanical irritation from indigestible foods, as well as providing an environment for some of the unhelpful bacteria to grow.
It may be worth asking the dietician about adding digestive enzymes to your food (easily available in tablets off the shelf at chemists, or in prescriber doses), because then you’ll have them mixing in with your food immediately, which can change the way food is digested and absorbed - with some to much improvement. Best to ask a smart dietician about that stuff, they should help you 🙂🌺
absorption of nutrients is critical to rest and recovery and regeneration, as well as immunity 💜🙂🌺
I hope this is helpful - please do let me know if I can clarify anything for you 🙂🙌🏻🌺
take good care Adge 💜☺️

Thanks heaps @Jynx 🙂🌺
wow, that’s a really powerful (and uncomfortable but very memorable!💜) story on changing perspectives, and knowing that others are truly separate to us ☺️🌺
thank for sharing - your hard earned experience has lots of power 🙂💜
I think the nuance of transference/projection (for want of better descriptive terms) should be taught in school so people can know how relational dynamics influence behaviours 🙂
I personally do like systemic approaches… it’s not easy, however when you get the ear of the right person, things can change with great effect in particular areas of care and service delivery 🙂💜
I hope you had a nice rest after logging off, and have a lovely day today Jynx, and thanks for the chat! 🌺🙂💜

Dear @Former-Member
I have read your message several times lost in thought,
Thinking about you,
my friends here online,
how gracious people online are,
The loneliness of past members. And me.
And members now like here I hope this doesn't sound rude but I felt, like a minor celebrity by @Shaz51 or @Appleblossom when I came back.
I remember both terrible Psychotherapists and GPS that couldn't handle some people's stories and thinking of you
My sons.
Me.
